(Her) Story

An Original By Tess was birthed out of a woman who had a passion for dressmaking. She believed that GOD was calling her to be a representation for strong minded women who stood firm in their passion for handiwork. From her little store in Takoradi, Ghana (West Africa) in 1982; she started off making undergarments for little boys and girls. Today in the celebratory year of 2022, Theresa Nartey, owner of An Original by Tess, has decided to rebrand. Now as she takes her business globally with the help of her two beautiful daughters Benedicta & Angel; she is determined to manage a creative and inclusive platform & brand that allows both men and women to be confident in what they wear as they fall more in love with the authentic culture of the motherland Ghana, West Africa.
